Externships
We offer externships of up to 2 weeks from mid-January through mid-November. Any level veterinary student is welcome to apply, but preference will be given to 3rd/4th year students fulfilling clinical rotations. Much of our work is seasonal with reproduction and neonatology occupying most of our focus January through May. The summer months are a great combination of the tail end of breeding season, foal care, heard health, thoroughbred sales work and an influx of sport horses, while the fall brings about more thoroughbred sales activity. If any of these areas are of specific interest to you, please try to choose your dates accordingly.
To apply for an externship please email your CV, a photo and your desired dates to pmauk@lexingtonequinemedical.com
If your schedule is still uncertain, you are welcome to touch base and tentatively hold a spot.
