Join us September 6th and 7th
for the 2nd annual
Lexington Equine Medical Hunter Pace & 5K at the Park,
benefiting the Kentucky Horse Council!
Designed to mimic the feeling of being on a hunt without the hounds - teams of 2, 3 and 4 riders will travel over a marked course that will include woods, water and open fields. Jumping, non-jumping and pleasure welcome, as are all breeds and disciplines! The team that finishes closest to the optimum time (set by officials) without going over will be the winner in each division.
Hunter Pace Divisions-
Jumping: Riders can jump or go around any jump they choose; ridden at a hunting pace.
Non-Jumping: Riders can go around all jumps; ridden at a hunting pace.
Family/Pleasure: Riders can go around all jumps; ridden at a leisurely pace.
Fees -
$60 per rider registered by September 5th / $65 per rider registered day-of
$25 each additional ride (same horse and rider combination)*
*only first ride is eligible for placing in designated division
STABLING: Stabling at the Kentucky horse park is available for $50/night. There is no fee for haul-ins. Additional nights of stabling and other stabling requests can be emailed to lemghunterpace@gmail.com.
ATTIRE: ASTM-approved safety helmets and closed-toed shoes required. All helmets must be fastened while mounted. Costumes are encouraged!
COGGINS & HEALTH CERTIFICATES: A negative Coggins test is required for every horse entering the Kentucky Horse Park. A health certificate dated within 150 days for each horse is also required. Upload Coggins below, email to lemghunterpace@gmail.com or present when checking in.
PAYMENTS: Entries can be made via the Entry Form below, or downloaded to email or mail with the PDF form at the bottom of the screen. All entries made via the online form must be completed with PayPal. If you'd like to use another payment option, please see the PDF form.
REFUNDS: Refunds less a $30 office fee will be processed if management presented with a veterinary note stating horse is unable to compete. Withdrawal must be emailed to lemghunterpace@gmail.com.
RIDE TIMES: The course will be open from 11:00AM - 4:00PM on Saturday, September 6th and 8:00AM - 4:00PM on Sunday, September 7th. No official ride time is needed – show up, check in and head to the start box when you’re ready!
AWARDS: Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each division, ribbons 1st through 6th place. TIP Awards will be available for the all-Thoroughbred team closest to optimum time across all divisons.
WAIVER: All riders (parents or guardian if rider is under 18) must sign the waiver below. Waivers can be uploaded with entry, emailed to lemghunterpace@gmail.com, or printed and presented at check-in. No riders will be allowed to participate without a signed waiver.
